After the end of the exciting tennis tournament from the Masters series in Miami, the official ATP site has published material about the most important things we learned last week.

Confidence is key, especially for Isner

John Isner was not the favorite for the title, to put it mildly, as he arrived in Miami with only two wins in 2018 on his account, against opponents outside the top 80world rankings. Since losing the first set in his first match by sport video stream in the tournament - 1:6 by Irze Vessely - the American won 11 consecutive sets and picked up the biggest title in his career. For the first time in his career he overcomes more than one rival from the top 6.




Zverev will make a new strong year

Before Miami, the German had made three of his four defeats from rivals outside the top 50. In Florida, however, Zverev has shown he can raise his level in the important moments. Even without the third Masters title, the youngster has asked for future greatness and still has time to become the youngest of Novak Djokovic in 2008 with more than two trophies in the highest ATP category.




Juan Martin del Potro will only go up

The Argentine was very close to becoming the first ever to be the first to win in Acapulco, Indian Wells and Miami, but his remarkable 15-game series ended in the semi-finals in Florida after a defeatby champion Isner. However, Del Potro made the best start in his career with 21 wins and only 3 losses, with his winning series including four top 10 rankings, including Roger Federer. Del Potro has only 355 points to Wimbledon and there is no reason to believe he will stop his progress in the rankings. Also, the Argentine looks set to return to the top 5 of the world for the first time since February 2014. Not bad for a man who was 338 years ago at the same time
